The Reasons for the Recall
We, the Concern Citizens of New Orleans have come together to initiate the campaign to recall Nolan Marshall Jr.,
Orleans Parish School Board member.
We started this campaign because we believe that Mr. Marshall's leadership demonstrates his support of the Recovery School District (RSD) Agenda and not the agenda of which he was elected.
The RSD created in 2003 to help recover academically failing schools, as of February 2015, they have only recovered four(4) school. As reported by the Times-Picayune, Lesile Jacobs a private citizen is considered the chief "architect" of this failed State enity. Currently the (RSD) does not academically operate any school in Orleans Parish.
Mrs Jacobs and her immediate family has contributed well over $30, 000 to Mr. Marshall's Campaign.
Mrs Jacobs filed Mr . Marshall campaign canidate finance reports 45954 and 35790 with the Secretary of State's office. This generally is a function of the Campaign Manager.
He has consistently voted along with Woody Koppel, Sarah Usdin, and Seth Bloom to support Lesile Jacobs agenda to weaken the power and authority of the Orleans Parish School Board.
Mr. Marshall can not be trusted as he failed to represent the children and the community when he voted with RSD 97% of the time on issues that negatively impact the children and the community.
Mr. Marshall's largest financial contributor MS.JACOBS, continues to control his vote on the board.
Mr. Marshall is a part of destroying public education as he strongly supports the ONE APP that abuses our children as they are FORCED to travel out of their neighborhood to:
*Walk to shelter less bus stop in FREEZING, STORMING in-climate weather.
*Walk to Dark and Dangerous bus stop as early as 5:45 a.m. and returning home as late as 8:00 p.m.
*Pre-K students riding the bus with 8th graders who are sometimes 17 yrs.old.
*NO MONITORS ON THE BUS.
Children are BULLIED, FORCED TO FIGHT and HAVE SEX ON THE BUS (SWEPT UNDER THE RUG)
CHILD KILLED AND ONE INJURED CROSSING STREET TO GET BUS.
Mr. Marshall vote was the deciding vote to place a tax on the December 7, 2014 ballot, although 100% of the monies will come from the citizens of New Orleans. 83% will be controlled by the RSD. It is projected that this sales tax and milliage will generated approx. 20 million dollars a year, which 16 million will be under the controll of the RSD.
WHEN ASKED IF HE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE ANYTHING , HE SAID "I DID IT THEN, I WILL DO IT TODAY , I WILL DO IT TOMORROW and I WILL DO IT NEXT WEEK " In other words, He is saying I'll DO ITAGAIN.
Nolan is on of the leaders in our city who has failed us.
The worst thing we can do is to let Nolan continue to ruin the lives of our children in the current "pipeline to prison system" he is helping to make stronger.
